Portland says Yes to Affordable Homes!
November 10, 2016
Everyone in our community deserves a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home.
On November 8, Portland passed its first-ever affordable housing bond.
Portland voters said “YES” to Measure 26-179 with 62% of the vote. The measure creates a $258 million bond, allowing Portland to build and preserve an additional 1,300 affordable homes.
This new resource will add and preserve affordable homes for households earning between 30-60% of the City’s median income, roughly $22,000 to $43,080 a year for a family of four.
Congratulations to my colleague Dan Saltzman, Israel Bayer, Jes Larson and the community coalition that worked on this campaign. A proud day for our city!
