The holiday season is here, the most important time of the year for Portland’s neighborhood small businesses.

Nearly 20,000 small businesses call Portland home. They provide more than 270,000 jobs. And for every $1 spent at a local business, 70¢ stays in the local economy. 

Monday, I took a pledge to shop local this holiday season.
