Utilities Present Their Proposed Budgets
March 30, 2018
Yesterday, the Bureau of Environmental Services and the Portland Water Bureau presented their proposed budgets during a City Council work session.
The presentations were an opportunity for BES and PWB to share updates, priorities, and goals.
It’s one of the first steps in the City’s extensive budget process. In the coming weeks, Council will hold public meetings to get feedback from the community. Then, the Mayor will draft his proposed budget. And City Council and the public will have additional opportunities to discuss the draft before Council adopts a final budget in May.
Special thanks to BES Director Mike Jordan, PWB Director Mike Stuhr, and all the bureau staff who worked on the proposed budget and today’s presentation. And thanks to our public oversight bodies, the Portland Utility Board and the Oregon Citizens’ Utility Board, for their feedback today and throughout this process.
