50 Years of the Fair Housing Act
April 11, 2018
Today is the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, which was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson in 1968. Its main goal is to integrate neighborhoods and end bias in housing.
City Council honored the anniversary with a proclamation, public hearing, and other events throughout the day. Commissioner Fish made brief remarks after Mayor Wheeler read the proclamation, which you can read here.
