This morning, Council honored our veterans and the women and men currently serving in the United States military.

This Veterans Day is especially significant because it marks the 100^th anniversary of Armistice Day, the end of World War I.

On November 11^th – and indeed every day – we thank and celebrate our veterans and their families for their service and sacrifices.

On Monday, November 12^th, we urge community members to join the City’s Veterans Empowerment Team and many other Portlanders at the 44^th Annual Ross Hollywood Chapel Veterans Day Parade. The parade will start at 9:30am at NE 40^th and Tillamook.

We also invite you to stop by the City Hall Atrium and explore a historical display and videos sharing the stories of veterans who work for the City of Portland.
