OPEN FOR 30-DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE CITY OF PORTLAND HEARINGS OFFICE IN CONNECTION WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ELECTRONIC PROCESSING (E-FILING) OF APPEALS, TOW APPEALS AND CODE ENFORCEMENT COMPLAINTS IN 2018.
October 6, 2017
TO ALL INTERESTED AGENCIES, GROUPS AND PERSONS:
The City of Portland Hearings Office anticipates implementing a new electronic filing (e-filing) and case management system to replace an outdated case management system. The addition of e-Filing will provide greater efficiency for the Hearings Office, and greater convenience for City Bureaus, businesses and individuals involved in filing and responding to code appeals and code enforcement proceedings. As a result, rules governing tow hearings, code appeals and code enforcement proceedings need to be modified to reflect the new processes. A summary of significant rule changes is provided on the last pages of each set of rules.
Copies of the rules will be available for review and comment from October 6, 2017, through November 7, 2017, online here:
- Consolidated Hearings Office Rules (ARB-ADM-9.XX) (Please note: Appendices A through F are linked beginning on Page 26 of the draft rules)
and at the Hearings Office front desk at the address below, or by calling the Hearings Office at 503-823-7307. The Hearings Office is accessible to people with disabilities.
