Confidentiality and Records Requests
A complainant who requests the record of their complaint may receive copies of all the documents which they submitted to IPR. If requested, they may receive a copy of a transcript of their own interview with the IPR Investigator, or - if a transcript does not exist - an electronic file copy, such as a file burned to a CD. They may also receive copies of any letters sent to them by IPR.
IPR will not release to the complainant materials generated by IPR as part of the investigation, as these are exempt from disclosure under Oregon Public Records law.
IPR will inform the requestor that IPR is not the custodian of any records created by the PPB or by the Bureau of Emergency Communications (BOEC). IPR can direct the complainant to the records contact at PPB Central Records, which is the custodian of the record.
