Investigator Field Safety Plan
IPR strongly encourages investigators to collect evidence or conduct interviews in person, outside of the office, where it will add to the thoroughness and quality of the evidence gathered for the investigation. Personal safety should be the highest priority when conducting field work. IPR Investigators will use professional judgment when conducting field work. IPR Investigators will obtain background information about the locations and persons to be visited. As needed, IPR Investigators will discuss an appropriate safety plan with an IPR Director or other investigators. Safety planning may include: informing IPR staff of expected time of return to the office; planning for telephone check-in after a set amount of time; or, asking a staff member to accompany the investigator.
