Policy updated: March 2016
IPR staff will provide professional and courteous service to members of the public who enter the office in person. There may be times when a visitor to the IPR office acts in a manner inappropriate for a publicly accessible government office. If the visitor does not follow requests to adjust disruptive behavior, IPR staff will ask the visitor to leave, with the ability to return at another date and/or time where appropriate communication can occur.
If visitors refuse to leave after an IPR request, IPR staff may request the assistance of building security by calling for assistance at 503-201-1549. If visitors behave in a manner that causes concern for individual, staff or building safety, IPR staff can utilize an emergency security request button. IPR will train all staff on how to locate and use the emergency security request button. IPR staff are expected to know emergency exit plans and how to lock the office entrance.
