IPR Role on Police Review Board
An IPR Director serves as a voting member at the Police Review. While the IPR staff member present at the Review Board represents IPR, they must make an independent determination of whether the involved Police Bureau member engaged in misconduct based on the facts gathered during the administrative investigation. Additionally, if a Review Board member makes a recommendation of a sustained finding, they must also recommend an appropriate level of corrective action based on the Police Bureau’s discipline guide.
