Mediation Coordinator Duties
When IPR receives confirmation from a PPB member’s supervisor that the member agrees to mediation, the Mediation Coordinator will contact the member directly to obtain shift information and primary contact information, and provide the member with a brief overview of the program. The Mediation Coordinator will also notify the complainant that the member has agreed to mediation and confirm the complainant’s contact information.
The Mediation Coordinator will then contact one of the contracted mediators for availability, providing the mediator with a brief summary of the incident and allegations. When a mediator has agreed to take a case, the Mediation Coordinator will provide the mediator with the contact information for the involved parties for further scheduling purposes.
The mediator will schedule a mediation with both parties per the mediation program protocols. IPR will provide written notification to all parties of the date, time, and location of the mediation.
The mediation and reporting will follow the protocols and guidelines described in the City’s administrative rules.
