The City of Portland’s Office of Equity and Human Rights, Portland Commission on Disability (PCOD), and community partners invite you to a series of events celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a landmark civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability and guides employers and businesses on accessibility and reasonable accommodation requirements.

Opening Ceremony of the Disability History Exhibit, “Advocating Change Together”

The event theme is “Sharing our Histories, Dreaming our Future.” Please join us as we look at the beginning of the Disability Rights movement, celebrate our successes, and reflect on the road ahead.
The event will feature members of the disability community invited to share their stories. This will be a universally accessible event. ASL interpretation, closed captioning, and audio descriptions will be provided.
