Temporary Locations Announced for

BES and Water Bureau Staff Located in the Portland Building

On January 23, 2017, the temporary space location was announced for BES and Water Bureau (excluding the Water Bureau’s Call and Customer Service Centers) staff located in the Portland Building while it is being reconstructed.  More information is below and on the attached flyer with details about the location.

Leases for the remaining Portland Building bureaus and staff are still in process.  Information on these will be announced as soon as it is available.

Once leases are signed, the Portland Building Reconstruction project team will begin working with individual bureaus to determine further details and space planning.  Please keep in mind that this is a temporary location and work will continue on the development of spaces in the reconstructed Portland Building.  The project team will also be working with the Change Management Committee on move planning.

Temporary Location:  400 SW 6th Ave.

The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) and the majority of Water Bureau will be located at 400 SW 6th Ave.  The Water Bureau’s Call Center and Customer Service Center are not part of this lease, and information on their location will be available once that lease is signed. 

This lease commences on Aug. 1, 2017, which means staff in these two bureaus can expect moves to occur between Aug. 1st and Dec. 1st.  The Portland Building Reconstruction project team will work with bureaus to narrow down the specific move date(s).

BES will have the 2nd floor and part of the 3rd floor of the building.  Water Bureau will have part the 4th floor and part of the 3rd floor of the building.  The project team will be working with individual bureaus to determine where employees will be located on these floors.  In addition to any conference rooms on dedicated floors, there will be a large shared conference room available that can seat approximately 125 people.  

This building is directly across the street from two other City Bureaus – Portland Housing Bureau and the Office of Equity and Human Rights.  It is within the SW downtown core and is approximately 0.5 miles from City Hall and 0.3 miles from BES’s staff at Pioneer Tower.
