Construction Updates: January 2019
The basement has really changed in the last month! Stair #4, which used to run from the basement to the 2nd floor, has been replaced with a new service elevator pit, and new concrete slabs have been poured to the north and south of the old parking garage ramp. Crews have also begun installing overhead plumbing for the locker room and restrooms as well as building out electrical support spaces.
Progress has been made with the plan to create a stunning view of Chapman Square to the east, too. The raised concrete slab on the first floor and a portion of the slab on the second floor have been demolished. The new unitized curtainwall will incorporate an expansive two-story window in this space.
The seismic upgrades are nearing completion. The shear wall installation on the 11th and 12th floors are complete. Additional structural columns on the exterior walls are approximately 90% complete through the 14th floor. The remaining seismic upgrades are expected to finish up in March.
The interior build-out is progressing nicely on the 4th floor with crews in the process of painting and installing the grid for the acoustic ceiling tiles. Tenant improvements are in various stages of completion from the 5th through the 7th floors.
In the core, construction of the restrooms and supports spaces is in process from the 3rd floor through the 8th floor. Additionally, the improvements to the stairwells has begun with new railings being installed in Stair #2.
On the exterior, layout for curtainwall anchors is almost finished on the east and south elevations and the curtainwall panels are now installed on the north and west façades. On the roof, the platform for the new air handler units is undergoing final preparations for the delivery of the units expected in mid-February.
