    Burnside Bridge closed Saturday for Rose Parade

    The Burnside Bridge will close to motor vehicle and river traffic on Saturday, June 6 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. for the Portland Rose Festival’s Grand Floral Parade. TriMet bus lines 12-Sandy, 19-Glisan and 20-Burnside will be detoured across the Steel Bridge during the bridge closure. Bridge sidewalks will remain open. Alternate river crossings when the Burnside Bridge is closed include the Hawthorne and Morrison bridges.

    Mayor Hales, Commissioner Novick, Director Treat meet with media to discuss transportation safety in light of recent crashes

    Portland Mayor Charlie Hales, City Commissioner Steve Novick and Transportation Director Leah Treat will hold a news conference today to discuss the City’s efforts to prioritize safety for all transportation modes in a multimodal environment. The news conference comes immediately following an afternoon meeting at City Hall with stakeholders and officials with the Portland Police Bureau and Portland Fire & Rescue. A representative of the Oregon Department of Transportation will also be available.

    Multnomah County Planning Commission seeks new member

    Multnomah County’s Land Use Planning Division is looking for a county resident who lives in an urban or rural area of the county east of the Willamette River to serve as a volunteer member on the county’s Planning Commission.

    SW Ventilation May 30: SW Taylors Ferry Road projected to reopen at 4:00pm

    Environmental Services is working on a project to reduce sewer odors and increase the capacity of the Southwest Parallel Interceptor sewer system to accommodate potential growth. The contractor is installing about 1,000 feet of 24-inch concrete pipe along SW Taylors Ferry Road, 800 feet of 48-inch concrete pipe along SW Virginia Avenue, and permanent odor controls east of SW Taylors Ferry Road.
