It will be from 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Kingston Sports Bar Grill, 2021 S.W. Morrison Street. From the event's Facebook post, the organizers note DNO has made reservations and attendees may just walk inside, then turn right. The group will be at the back on the lower level. The only precaution is to look for flying hands. DNO is mostly for adults 21 and over. The group has another event called DDO (Deaf Day Out) that is a family-friendly event for all ages. Pedestrian access is topic of November 13th Walking and Rolling Tour of the Pearl District Everyone is invited to join an ADA walking and rolling tour in the Pearl District on Monday, November 13, at 5:30 p.m. The Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) tour will begin from intersection of N.W. 11th Avenue and Couch Street. WTS Honorary members Jan Campbell and Noel Mickelberry will join participants on the walk, share their knowledge, and highlight ADA considerations and issues for the walk and roll around the Pearl District. Emphasis will be on Portland's first pedestrian scramble signal at N.W. Couch Street and 11th Avenue. The group will also discuss pedestrian access issues in construction zones. Jan Campbell works for Multnomah County's Aging and Disability Resource Connection and for Disabilities through Disability Awareness Resource Team (DART). She serves as the Chair of TriMet's Committee on Accessible Transportation, the Special Transportation Fund Advisory Committee and as a commissioner on the Oregon's Disabilities Commission. Noel Mickelberry is the Executive Director of Oregon Walks. The event with be held rain or shine, dress appropriately for the weather. The walk is free and participants need to register in advance. Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) is dedicated to excellence in transportation through advancing the voice and professional development of women in the transportation industry. Attendees are invited to bring a device or talk about a system they find helpful in listening to or communicating with others. Examples: a neckloop and MP3 player combo; Roger Pen; pocket talker; a smartphone app; or whatever system helps them. The group will also be joined by Erik Iverson of Rose City Sound, who will help everyone better understand the technology involved in sound systems. Monthly chapter meetings are real-time captioned (CART) and there is an induction loop amplification system (usable by wearers of hearing devices equipped with telecoils). ASL is not provided. Meetings are accessible by Tri-Met lines 15 and 77 and the Portland Streetcar, which all stop within two blocks. Disability Events Dis/Representation/s October event: Immigrants & Refugees with Disabilities Community Events Dis/Representation’s “Evolving Disability Discussions” November 30th event will focus on Immigrants and Refugees with Disabilities. Immigrants and Refugees with Disabilities to be topic for November 30th Dis/Representation event Dis/Representation's 'Evolving Disability Discussions' November 30th event will focus on Immigrants and Refugees with Disabilities from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saara Hirsi and Abdi Mohamed will lead the November discussion. They will address systemic issues of Isolation, Employment, and Education faced by refugees with disabilities. The event is free and open to the public. The event is at Portland Community College's Cascade Campus' Cascade Hall, Room 209, 705 North Killingsworth Street. Accommodations available upon request are: ASL Interpreters, Audio Description, Real-Time Captioning (CART), and Alternate Formats.
