We are always working on expanding our Neighborhood Watch program.  When there are additional initiatives going on, they will be posted here.

Portland Development Commission Five-Year Action Plan

PDC Five-Year Action Plan outlines recommended steps and resources to create a safe, vibrant, economically healthy neighborhood that will maintain Old Town / Chinatown’s unique character and harness its opportunities.

Crime Prevention Services & Programs

ONI specific services including problem solving, neighborhood watch, community foot patrol, Enhanced Safety Properties, and crime prevention trainings.

Give Tokens

Give Tokens to the homeless instead of cash, and let them know you care. These Tokens can then be redeemed by the homeless for food, clothing, shelter, haircuts, transportation, laundry, etc.

Sidewalk Management Plan - map

The City of Portland’s public sidewalk system is intended to provide for the safe and unobstructed movement of pedestrians throughout the city. Portland’s Bureau of Transportation has Pedestrian Guidelines that specify sidewalk design widths.

Q Center Anti Violence Program

The Q Center Anti-Violence Program (QAVP) is our community’s answer to bias crime. Formed after a string of bias-motivated assaults in 2010, the QAVP seeks to foster and increase public safety for the LGBTQ community and our allies.

Newsrack Management

Publication distribution boxes/newsracks have become a neighborhood eyesore. They are magnets for graffiti, vandalism, and neglect. The Safety and Livability is committed to improving this neighborhood wide problem.

Line Queue Sidewalk Stanchion Permit

The purpose of the permit is to organize use in and around businesses that draw late night lines within the Special Traffic Control District. It provides management of through passage areas that become congested as a result of the late night activity.

Friends of South Park Blocks

Friends of South Parks Blocks works to improve safety, identify maintenance issues, help with landscaping, and help with event planning.
