PBOT posts schedule for Transportation Needs and Funding Advisory Committee
(July 16, 2014) The Portland Bureau of Transportation has posted the schedule of upcoming meetings for the Transportation Needs and Funding Advisory Committee, which has been advising since January on the Our Streets PDX transportation funding community conversation.
The committee and two working groups are advising Mayor Charlie Hales and City Commissioner Steve Novick on the best way to raise money to address critical transportation safety and maintenance needs.
The committee’s next meeting is Thursday, July 17, 10-11:30 a.m. in the Rose Room at Portland City Hall. While the meetings are open to the public, public testimony will not be taken. Comments and questions can be submitted to TUF_Administrator@portlandoregon.gov
Full schedules and rosters of the committee and two working groups advising on the funding effort are available at www.OurStreetsPDX.com
The City Council delayed a proposed Transportation User Fee on June 4, after five months of Our Streets PDX town halls, online surveys, advisory committee meetings and a five-hour public hearing May 29. Public outreach and community engagement will continue, leading up to a City Council vote, expected in November.
