NWDSA’s Angela Jarvis-Holland to receive Making a Difference award December 13
Angela Jarvis-Holland of the Northwest Down Syndrome Association (NWDSA) will be recognized for her outstanding work in the disability community as the 2016 recipient of the Making a Difference award at the December 13th Spirit of Portland Awards. The 32nd annual event will be at the Double Tree Hotel, 1000 NE Multnomah Street, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Angela is the executive director of NWDSA, whose mission is to create and nurture a loving and inclusive community celebrating every person with a disability including Down syndrome. She seeks to create positive change through community mobilizations and awareness work. NWDSA conducts numerous workshops, meetings, activities and events in the community.
The mayor and commissioners of the City of Portland invite everyone to join them as they recognize and celebrate the winners of the Spirit of Portland Awards. City Council presents Spirit of Portland Awards each year to individuals and groups who make outstanding contributions to the community and has more information available on its website.
