East Irvington Sewer Extension Project Update: April 18, 2017
Paving Restoration Begins Soon
Environmental Services, the city’s sewer and stormwater utility, has extended the public sewer system to properties where service has only available through a neighboring property or through a private line in the right-of-way. This is most commonly referred to as a party sewer connection. Under NE Tillamook St and NE 24th Avenue, this project has installed 740 feet of main line sewer pipe, five new manholes, and branch connections to 11 properties allowing them to make direct connections to the public sewer. This project will help protect public health, water quality, and the environment.
Sewer pipe construction will be complete this week, and the next phase will be final trench paving and restoration. The contractor has applied temporary asphalt where crews installed the new sewer pipes. Now that pipe work is wrapping up, the final trench paving and restoration will be performed as weather allows.
