City of Portland currently has two positions open
that are related to working with the disability community
There are two openings for positions for the City of Portland to work on programs for persons with disabilities. The Bureau of Human Resources (BHR) and the Office of Equity and Human Rights (OEHR) are seeking candidates with the knowledge, skills and experience to work in their programs of inclusion for people with disabilities.
BHR has an opening for a Disability Resources and Employment Specialist (Program Coordinator) who will be a member of the BHR team and report to the director. The specialist will be responsible for a new city-wide program intended to increase the City's hiring of individuals with disabilities through training, awareness and outreach, and to create an inclusive work environment that supports current employees with disabilities. The deadline to apply for this position is October 30th by 11:59 p.m.
The opening in OEHR is for a Disability Equity Specialist who will be responsible for assisting in the work of the Disability Equity Program. The program coordinates and supports disability inclusion with City bureaus through technical support, training, tracking, maintaining disability data, and supporting the program’s work, including the Commission on Disability. This position works under direction of the Disability Equity Program Coordinator and reports to the Office of Equity Senior Policy Advisor. November 13th at 11:59 p.m. is the deadline for submitting applications for this position.
