Adaptive Cyclists!
The Bicycle Advisory Committee is recruiting new members!

New members are being recruited for the City of Portland Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) that advises the Mayor, City Council, and all City departments on matters relating to bicyclists. The BAC is seeking a diverse group of people to represent all Portland communities and neighborhoods. The open application period closes on November 3.

The committee wishes to expand its diversity further by reaching out to bicyclists from a variety of backgrounds from all areas of Portland They are especially interested in representatives of the adaptive cycling community. Adaptive cyclists have unique perspectives and challenges that may not be well understood by most bicyclists and bicycle advocates.

BAC is a volunteer organization that works on issues that impact and are related to bicycling. BAC members serve 3-year terms, during which, they are expected to attend monthly meetings at City Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. It is comprised of 13 volunteer members and seven 7 volunteer alternate members), appointed by the Transportation Commissioner

Applications are being accepted from now until November 3rd at 5pm. Anyone interested may download a printable application or apply online. To learn more, visit the BAC website.
