Portland ReelAbilities Disability Film Festival continues
with films related to Disability Dating and Friendship

Disability Dating and Friendship are the topic of the May 18th Portland ReelAbilities film screening from 7 to 9 p.m. Three films are being presented at NW Film Center's Whitsell Auditorium, 1219 Southwest Park Avenue and they are:

“Good Beer” – Shannon and David meet online and go on a revealing first date. Directed by Tony Borden.

“Blind Date” – Three New Yorkers who are blind embark on their quest for love, lust, and long-lasting partnerships in the digital age. Directed by Nicole Ellis and Maya Albanese.

“Awake” – Anna, a blind woman living with MS, is visited by Doreen, a blind door to door proselytizer who makes herself at home and stays the day, slowly defrosting her non- welcome.

The Portland ReelAbilities Film Festival is a partnership between Disability Art and Culture Project (DACP) and the national film festival, ReelAbilities. ReelAbilities is dedicated to sharing the stories, lives and art of people with disabilities. It consists of award-winning films of the highest cinematic and artistic quality and is hosted in cities across the country. DACP is excited to bring these films back to Portland!

All the films are captioned, and audio description and ASL interpreters are also provided at film showings. General admission is $9 and will be $5 for people with disabilities, seniors and children under 12.
