Permitting for picnics opens on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 8:00am. This includes phone-in, walk-in, and online reservations.
Many of Portland's parks have picnic tables available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. However, if you wish to guarantee a picnic site, you will need to make a reservation in advance - use our online permit requests system. All reserved picnic areas are for a full day. Parks not included on the picnic brochure may be reserved for picnics under a Special Use Permit. Check the picnic brochure for fees, policies, insurance, and complete reservation information.
Notice for picnics in Washington Park
Portland Parks & Recreation will not be reserving picnic sites within Washington Park due to the construction impact of the Reservoir Improvement Project by the Portland Water Bureau. The construction may close streets as well as parking throughout the park. If the you wish to use picnic sites within Washington Park this season, you may do so on a first come, first served basis - but PP&R will not be able to issue you a permit.
