The initial concept plan for Westmoreland Park identified iconic components of the Westmoreland Park we know today such as the casting pond, ball fields, and the former wading pool/duck pond. The adopted 2004 master plan for the park recognizes the critical role of Crystal Springs Creek in providing critical habitat to endangered native fish populations. Improvements to the park following the 2004 master plan will bring new iconic park components for the next generation, including a planned skate park and boardwalks through the revitalized creek habitat.
