Hi everyone and happy first Friday of spring!
It's been a typical first few days of spring here in the NW with lots of rain and little sun breaks. But the weather man has promised us sunshine and high 50s next week so I'm excited.
A new season always re-inspires my workouts. I like to shake off my winter routine with new sets and movements in my classes and it also encourages me to try new personal workouts like I did last Sunday. I took Jason's 11:30 boot camp class and realized just how typical my workouts have become. After the fourth round of squats, presses, and hand release burpies I found myself nauseous and short of breath. My shoulders and lungs were burning and every fiber in my body was screaming "What are you doing? Time to quit!" But I told myself I was not quitting and at the end of the class I felt depleted, but amazing. It's Friday and my shoulders are still sore in the good way. I'm also looking forward to doing it again this Sunday! I like to remind my clients that what is usually the hardest part of your workout is what is best for you. I encourage you to take a hard look at your routine and ask if you are really giving it your true best effort.
Remember we have five amazing trainers here at SWCC (including me) that can help you realize your body's potential. Make an appointment today and see just how able your body is and how badly it wants to perform at it's peak for you!
Thanks for reading and I hope to see you all sweating in the gym! :)
