Tree Summit

Volunteers identify a treeCairo presents at summitVolunteers measure the trunk of a tree

Each November, we come together to share the season's findings, as well as ideas for improving our neighborhoods' urban forests.

The theme for 2017 was Big Trees: Where to find them, how to plant and care for them, and all the benefits they provide. Urban Forestry staff  presented the data that our volunteers collected on 16 Portland parks, and staff unveiled digital story maps (virtual tree tours) of each of the parks. Other presentations included digital tools created by Portland State University designed to help Portlanders find spaces to plant trees, information on the Canopy Stories project, and volunteer opportunities with a number of forestry related programs in the City.

See full 2017 agenda here. We can't wait to see you at next year's Summit!
