(Portland, OR) –
Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R)’s Mt. Scott Community Center is pleased to present their second annual “Hip Hop Toy Drive”, to benefit Portland Fire & Rescue’s “Toy & Joy” Makers program.
WHAT: Portland Parks & Recreation, Mt. Scott Community Center’s “Hip Hop Toy Drive.”
WHERE/WHEN: Saturday, December 12, 2015 11:30am-2:00pm at Mt. Scott Community Center, 5530 SE 72nd Avenue, 503-823-3183. Please see below OR this link for more info.
The “Hip Hop Toy Drive” began as an idea from Mt. Scott Community Center’s dance instructor, DJ Rayley. Rayley is a regional award winning and nationally recognized dancer and choreographer who is great at working with all skill levels. She brings her talent to Mt. Scott Community Center where she teaches both hip hop and tap classes. Rayley wanted to bring hip hop to a wide audience of Portland dancers, make the event accessible to all experience and skill levels, and benefit the efforts of the Toy & Joy Makers’ mission.
This event will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Doors open at 11:30am, and the dance workshop begins at 12:00pm. The workshop is open to anyone ages 14 and up and is a great way for beginners to be introduced to Hip Hop dance. Admission is free with a donation of one new, unwrapped toy.
