Mr. McGlothlin has not worked for PP&R since July 2015

On February 20, 2016, Portland Parks & Recreation learned that James McGlothlin, a seasonal (part-time) employee in aquatics for PP&R, had been arrested.

McGlothlin worked for PP&R in a part-time, seasonal capacity beginning in 1993, including as a summer lifeguard and swim instructor (1993-2012, primarily at Southwest Community Center and Wilson Pool), as a drop-in child care staffer (approximately February-May of 2004, at Southwest Community Center), and as asummer aquatics supply delivery staff (2007-July 2015). From approximately 2004-2005, McGlothlin was a contracted employee via a staffing agency.
McGlothlin has not worked for PP&R since July 2015.
The charges are serious and the investigation is ongoing.
Portland Parks & Recreation is cooperating fully with Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and all other law enforcement agencies on this ongoing investigation.
