This is my 12th summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I like hiking and walking with my dog.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to watch this amazing staff make camp a special place!

Someday I would like to write a children’s book!

One thing I love about living in Portland is that there is so much green space in the city…and that Salt & Straw exists!

This is my first summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my own time in nature, I enjoy observing and understanding how all of the various plants, animals, insects, and even humans fit together into the interesting mosaic we call nature.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to learn how campers and children interact with nature in both personal and collective ways.

Someday, I would like to be able to grow most of the food that I eat.

One thing that I love about living in Portland is the amazing amount of color that we have in springtime!

On my free time in nature, I enjoy finding a nice quiet spot to sit, listen to birds, and read science fiction books.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to help create a space that encourages and promotes outdoor exploration.

Someday, I would like to visit the Arecibo radio telescope in the middle of the forest in Puerto Rico.

One thing I love about living in Portland is how green it is! I used to live in the desert, and this is still the greenest place I’ve ever seen.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy going on plant and flower walks to learn more about the flora of the Pacific Northwest!

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to sneak around Mt Tabor and watch for animals.

Someday, I would like to perform stand-up comedy.

One thing I love about living in Portland is the delicious food!

This is my fifth summer as a staff member at Nature Day Camp, though I’ve also been a volunteer and longtime camper!

On my free time in nature, I enjoy making acquaintance with bugs and trees, as well as laying in the grass.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to help our Junior Naturalists have a memorable experience of nature and children.

Someday, I would like to work on a giant dog ranch for homeless and adoptable dogs.

One thing I love about living in Portland is all of the beautiful bridges, and riding my bike in Bridge Pedal!

This is my tenth summer at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy walking slowly, stopping often, and sitting so I can observe…which leads to curiosity.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to support the youth (and Laura and myself) in deepening nature connection via stories, games, songs, questions, and letting nature guide us.

Someday I would like to travel to travel to Latin America para practicar mi espanol.

One thing I love about living in Portland is the spirit of solutions-based thinking and grassroots efforts to make Portland an awesome place to live.

This is my first summer at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy looking for tracks and wildlife signs, connecting with plants, listening to and identifying birds. As you can guess, I move really slowly.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to share nature connection with so many new kids! I am excited to see what excites them about nature and explore together.

Someday I would like to live off of the grid.

One thing I love about living in Portland is the weather! The clouds and sky are always changing and I love how wet and green it gets here.

Someday I would like to travel to New Zealand to watch the glow worms.

One thing I love about living in Portland is having access to a variety of parks.

One thing I love about living in Portland is the amount of trees that we have. Growing up here, I always loved the color green.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy sitting and relaxing in nature by listening to birds and watching animals interact. I also like to draw to de-stress or even go for a quick hike.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to learn and grow with the children and teach them something about nature that they will remember.

Someday I would like to be an environmental scientist that works on macro-invertebrates or stream equity as I travel.

One thing I love about living in Portland is that I was born here so I love all the green and water bodies. The weather is perfect and I love the diversity.

Someday I would like to record an audiobook for children.

One thing I love about living in Portland is that we have a bustling beautiful city surrounded by woodlands and wildlife…most cities don’t have that luxury!

This is my first summer working at Nature Day Camp, but I spent three years as a volunteer.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy sitting outside, under cover, and listening to the rain.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to explore with campers some of Portland’s most beautiful locations.

Someday I would like to do research in a STEM field.

One thing I love about living in Portland is how great our transportation system is! It makes it very convenient to get into nature!

On my free time in nature, I enjoy being on the lookout for critters – flipping over rocks and logs, listening for birds, finding a good view and taking it all in.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to explore Portland Parks that I love with kids of all ages. I find some of their perspectives and enthusiasm to be refreshing and inspiring.

Someday I would like to scuba dive in South Australia and visit with giant cuttlefish.

One thing I love about living in Portland is how close it is to so many different kinds of environments. Portland is in between the beach, desert, mountains, and forest.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy backpacking, solo camping, and long hikes.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to show and teach everyone the little beauties that made me fall in love with nature in the first place.

Someday I would like to go to Africa with my mom. We have been talking about doing it before I figured out Africa and Arizona are different places.

One thing I love about living in Portland is how close nature is! I can walk to my nearest trail and there’s greenery everywhere!

On my free time in nature, I enjoy biking around and walking. Generally, I love to just be in nature. I also love photographing nature.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to gain new skills and experiences, as well as meet new people.

Someday I would like to become a marine biologist and work with nature all the time.

One thing I love about living in Portland is the fact that I don’t have to try hard to find nature, and I get to be surrounded by nature pretty much all the time.
