(I'm on maternity leave until July!) When I return, this will be my 13th year working with Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I like hiking and walking with my dog.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to see the staff in action!

Someday I would like to write a children’s book!

One thing I love about living in Portland is that there is so much green space in the city…and that Salt & Straw exists!

This is my 2nd summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my own time in nature, I enjoy listening to an observing the creatures around me.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to get even better at supporting our Naturalists in being the best educators they can be.

Someday, I would like to be able to move at a slower pace to experience the world around me more deeply.

One thing that I love about living in Portland is all of the colors we are lucky to experience each spring and summer!

This is my 1st summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy hiking, jogging, swimming, and reading.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to support the Jr Naturalist volunteers in gaining environmental education skills and experience.

Someday, I would like to fly in a hot air balloon.

One thing I love about living in Portland is that there are so many incredible parks to explore and enjoy.

This is my 6th summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy fishing an camping with my family, taking a hike, and drawing as a form of relaxation and meditation.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to work with returning and new families, and this years NDC staff.

Someday, I would like to be out in the field doing stream restoration while traveling the world.

One thing I love about living in Portland is there are always things to do and places to go see, it never gets old. I feel especially lucky to live in a green city.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy finding bugs, yummy plants, and cool surprises!

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to giggle and laugh.

Someday, I would like to see a bear in real life.

One thing I love about living in Portland is that there are so many trees, gardens, and parks.

This is my 11th summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy opening my senses, listening to the sounds, feeling the breeze, and observing the day to day changes of plants in my yard.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to meet the campers, observe what lights them up, and share my enthusiasm and curiosity.

Someday, I would like to backpack or bike-pack in areas of Oregon!

One thing I love about living in Portland is biking to (nearly) everywhere I want to go.

This is my 2nd summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy learning about and growing plants, observing birds, bugs and animals, looking for animal signs, and wandering.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to meet new and returning campers, play all the games and practice our sensory awareness skills together.

Someday, I would like to see Portland neighborhoods filled with wild medicinal and edible gardens for all!

One thing I love about living in Portland is the weather! The sky is always changing in the winter months, and I love the shifts in cloud cover and lighting.

Summer Naturalist  

This is my 1st summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy finding somewhere to swim. Rivers are my favorite, but pretty much any body of water is great.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to teach the campers why nature is so cool. I'm excited to spend a summer talking about ways everyone can both enjoy and help take care of the nature around us.

Someday, I would like to work in environmental law so I can help to protect our environment in the most direct way possible. I'd love to make parks, establish protected wildlife areas, or even help support programs like this one.

One thing I love about living in Portland is you're never too far from nature. Just by driving 30 minutes in any direction you can find yourself at a great park or hike.

This is my 5th summer working at Nature Day Camp.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy hiking, bird watching and picnicking, especially at Mt. Tabor.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to learn something new from campers!

Someday, I would like to go hiking in New Zealand.

One thing I love about living in Portland is the street food scene and the small pockets of communities of color.

On my free time in nature, I enjoy absorbing my surroundings through my five senses. It never fails to calm me.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to learn from my campers about their unique insights into nature. 

Someday, I would like to meet a real squid.

Someday, I would like to come back to camp and see that I have left a mark on it.

One thing I love about living in Portland is how green our city is. Not many cities allow you to be this connected with your natural environment.

Someday, I would like to go to Patagonia in Chile and Argentina.

One thing I love about living in Portland is the easy access to the forest from downtown.

This summer at Nature Day Camp, I am excited to share my enthusiasm for the outdoors and encourage campers to always ask questions!

Someday, I would like to go on a bicycle camping trip.

One thing I love about living in Portland is all the forested parks! Seriously, I don't think I could stay long in a city without green spaces. I also love all the arts, from the percussion groups and protest bands to the Elizabeth Jones Art Gallery!
