Powell Butte Nature Park (Outer Southeast) – trail work
Saturday, October 13, 9:00 AM-noon
Join Hands On Portland and Portland Parks & Recreation to improve trails on Powell Butte. No experience necessary! Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear and sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water and coffee/tea provided. Participants should be at least 8 years old and accompanied by an attentive adult. (Participants unaccompanied by an adult should be at least 14 years old.) Volunteers will be walking up to 5 miles during the event, so arrive before 9:00 AM to make sure you meet up with the group. All projects start at 9:00 AM.
Meet at: Main Entrance, south of Powell Blvd. (Hwy 26 East) on SE 162nd. Turn south onto SE 162nd from Powell Blvd. and follow the entrance road to the visitors center and parking lot at the top of the Butte. Group will likely be hiking a distance from the parking lot, so be on time to be sure to meet up with the group.
