12th Annual Johnson Creek Clean Up! (Inner/Outer Southeast) – litter patrol
Saturday, August 24, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Barbecue and prizes from 12:30-2:00 PM
Join Johnson Creek Watershed Council, Overland Park Coalition, Portland Parks & Recreation and other community and governmental organizations to clean up Johnson Creek and adjacent parks—everyone is welcome! No experience necessary. Volunteers will be walking in the creek to pick up litter. Wear your rubber boots or close-toed shoes (required) that you don’t mind getting dirty! (sorry, no Keens or similar shoes.) Also wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet—quick-dry materials are recommended. Other volunteer opportunities include adjacent park litter patrol (no need for rubber boots). Meeting location is Mill Park in Milwaukie (SE Linwood Avenue and Overland Street).
Event is followed by a barbecue for all participants! The first 200 volunteers to arrive will receive a fabulous 12th Annual Clean-up t-shirt, designed by a local artist! We are accepting group registrations still as well.
