Powell Butte Nature Park (Outer Southeast) – trail work

Join Hands On Portland and Portland Parks & Recreation to improve trails on Powell Butte. Trail work helps to keep trails safe and useful for hikers, bird watchers, bikers and horseback riders. Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear, and sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, snacks, and coffee/tea provided. Aged 8+ welcome, and no experience necessary! Participants should be at least 8 years old and accompanied by an attentive adult. (Participants unaccompanied by an adult should be at least 14 years old.) Volunteers will be walking up to 5 miles during the event, so arrive before 9:00 AM to make sure you meet up with the group.
Meet at: Main Entrance, south of Powell Blvd. (Hwy 26 East) on SE 162nd. 16160 SE Powell Blvd. Turn south onto SE 162nd from Powell Blvd. and follow the entrance road to the visitor’s center and parking lot at the top of the Butte. Follow event signs to the parking area.
