Leach Botanical Garden (Outer Southeast) – Invasive species removal
Saturday, December 14, 10:00 AM-1:00 PM
Join Portland Parks & Recreation, Leach Garden Friends, Wisdom of the Elders, Blueprint Foundation and the Johnson Creek Watershed Council to complete important ecological enhancement projects in the native habitat area of Leach Botanical Garden. Removing invasive species helps protect wildlife habitat and encourages native plants to thrive, ultimately leading to cleaner water in Johnson Creek, which supports salmon and other fish. Everyone welcome, and no experience necessary! Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear, and sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea, and snacks provided. Children welcome and must be accompanied by an attentive adult.
Meet at: Leach Botanical Garden: 6704 SE 122nd Ave. From I-205 take the Foster Road exit and travel east on Foster Road. Turn right (south) onto SE 122nd and follow down the hill, around the curves and over the bridge. Leach Botanical Gardens’ parking lot is on the right, just past the bridge.
