Powell Butte Nature Park (outer Southeast) – planting and litter patrol
Saturday, January 11 | 9:00am—12:00pm
Join Hands on Portland and Portland Parks & Recreation to plant native shrubs on Powell Butte. Ecological enhancement of this area provides cleaner air for community members, habitat for the many varied bird species on the Butte and keeps litter out of our watershed. Everyone welcome, and no experience necessary! Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear and sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, snacks and coffee/tea provided. Children welcome and must be accompanied by an attentive adult.
Meet at the main entrance, south of Powell Blvd (Hwy 26 East) on SE 162nd Avenue. Turn south onto SE 162nd Avenue from Powell Blvd and follow the entrance road to the visitors center and parking lot at the top of the Butte. Follow event signs to the parking area.
TriMet 9 (SE 162nd Avenue stop)
Bike/walk on the Springwater Corridor trail, portlandoregon.gov/parks/springwatermap.
