Lents Park (Outer Southeast) – planting
Saturday, February 1, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Join Portland Parks & Recreation, Green Lents, and the Johnson Creek Watershed Council to plant this lovely ribbon of pollinator-paradise flowing through the park. Parks staff have been transforming the southeast corner of Lents Park with fresh compost, tons of boulders, new trees, and habitat features to create a vast natural garden stretching from the forest understory to upland meadow with much in between. Learn more about the project here. Everyone welcome, and no experience necessary! Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear and/or sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea and homemade treats provided. Children welcome, and must be accompanied by an attentive adult.
