Description

Why do some trees lose their leaves in the fall while others do not? Are those lush patches of moss and ferns good or bad for the tree? Do different types of trees need different care? What are some of the questions you have about trees? What have you always wanted to know about that one interesting tree in your neighborhood?
PP&R Urban Forestry arborists want to hear from you! An arborist is a professional who specializes in the care, management, and study of trees. Submit your questions online by June 5, and our expert arborists will answer questions live on June 16 at 1:00pm - 2:00pm.

Portland Parks & Recreation Urban Forestry's mission is to manage and ensure Portland's urban forest infrastructure for current and future generations. Portland’s urban forest consists of 236,000 street trees, 1.2 million park trees, and innumerable private property trees. Urban Forestry is involved in managing or regulating all of these trees to differing degrees. Urban Forestry staff issue permits for planting, pruning, and removal of all public and some private trees and are on call 24/7 to respond to tree emergencies.
