Columbus Day Storm 50th anniversary

Friday (10/12) marks the 50th anniversary of the Columbus Day Storm, the most powerful and destructive weather event to hit thePacific Northwest in more than a century.


The storm resulted in over 46 deaths, several hundred injuries and the loss of power to millions. Wind gusts in Portland reached 116 mph, and even higher along the coast.
