The Multnomah County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (MCARES) is a group federally licensed amateur radio operators trained in emergency communications and serve our community whenever the need arises. Radio operators from throughout the county, who have an interest in community service and emergency communications, are strongly encouraged to get involved. MCARES is a strong supporter of the Portland NET program.
MCARES monthly meetings are on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. All meetings are at the Portland Fire & Rescue Training Center, 4800 NE 122nd Avenue Portland, OR 97230. There will be members of the MCARES leadership team available a half hour before the regular meeting to answer your questions about how you can get involved. You can also learn about MCARES on their web site: multnomahares.org.
