The Portland Bureau of Emergency Management (PBEM) is proud to announce the arrival of a unique online video training series geared toward current and aspiring Neighborhood Emergency Team volunteers. The initial course series includes 17 different videos featuring presentations by the area's top emergency preparedness and response experts. These experts explain, for example, how to make an emergency preparedness kit, how to care for your pets during emergencies, how to plan for extreme weather, earthquakes, tsunami, volcano eruptions, landslides and the many other hazards that exist in our region. The courses in this entry-level series range in length between four and 13 minutes. The videos are useful as a refresher course for veteran NET members. They're also a primer for new NET members committed to deep participation in the program at the neighborhood level. Once members pass a quiz related to these entry-level courses, they will become eligible for PBEM's advanced, in-depth NET training.
