Construction of the City of Portland’s new state-of-the-art emergency coordination center (ECC) is moving ahead at full steam. This week, neighbors saw heavy truck traffic as concrete and steel were recently brought to the site.
“It should start looking like a building soon, and we appreciate your patience as we bring concrete and supplies to the site," said Emerick Construction representative Alicia Clark.
The ECC will serve as a multi-agency coordination hub supporting on-scene response to an emergency. Located at 3732 SE 99th Avenue - adjacent to the current Portland 911 center and Ed Benedict Park - the ECC will harness the City’s response resources, support elected officials and provide helpful information to the public during all phases of a significant emergency: readiness, response and recovery.
