Metro Regional Housing Bond

In 2018, voters approved a $652.8 million affordable housing bond measure to create affordable homes across Washington, Clackamas, and Multnomah counties. Metro is working with local partners and communities to bring 3,900 new affordable homes to 12,000 people, including seniors, working families, veterans and people living with disabilities. Local Implementation Strategy Development Timeline:

March - July 2019:

Community engagement conducted with stakeholders and partners to inform draft strategy.

August - November 2019: 

Draft strategy written; additional engagement conducted to receive community feedback.

December - January 2020:

Final strategy will be completed and presented to Portland City Council, Metro Community Oversight Committee and Metro Council.

Governance

The Metro Council has appointed a community oversight committee to provide independent, transparent oversight of implementation. Quarterly meetings are open to the public.
