In 2018, voters approved a $652.8 million affordable housing bond measure to create permanently affordable homes across Washington, Clackamas, and Multnomah counties. Metro is working with local partners and communities to bring affordable homes to 12,000 people, including seniors, working families, veterans and others who need them. Metro will implement the bond in partnership with the City of Portland and six other jurisdictions, each with its own funding allocation and production targets.
The Metro Council has appointed a community oversight committee to provide independent, transparent oversight of implementation. Quarterly meetings are open to the public.
