If you are a 501(c)3 nonprofit or a community-based organization serving low-income individuals, you can apply for a grant in the form of TriMet fare.
As part of the TriMet’s continuing efforts to reduce transit inequities and lessen the impacts of the 2012 fare increase, they have established the Access Transit: Fare Relief Program.
Ride Connection will administer the program and will award grants up to $25,000 in value to qualified organizations.
The initial amount set aside for the grant program is $300,000. By reaching out to humanitarian and philanthropic organizations, our goal is to create a robust, long-lasting program that will continue to help individuals and families hit hardest by the 2012 fare increase.
This is an open application process. To be considered in our first round of review, please submit your application by Friday, March 22.
