At the Portland Housing Bureau, we believe that everyone deserves to live in safe, decent and affordable homes in the neighborhoods of their choice. The Yards, a multi-decade development, exemplifies that value.
This transformation of a brownfield to a LEED Silver certified, sustainable place to call home is complete.
The grand opening at 4 p.m. today, at 615 N.W. Naito Parkway, marks the completion of the final phase of The Yards at Union Station, adding 80 new, affordable apartments and bringing the project’s total to 620 beautiful new homes—a mixture of market-rate, workforce and affordable homes to very low-income families.
The Portland Housing Bureau invested nearly $5 million in this final phase and the City has invested more than $24 million in this development since the mid-‘90s.
The Yards sits at the foot of the Broadway Bridge with convenient access to public transit and the jobs and many other amenities offered in downtown Portland and the Pearl District.
Congratulations to all private and public partners involved in The Yards, including GSL Properties, City Real Estate Investors, Chase, Home Forward and staff at the Portland Housing Bureau.
