We believe that everyone deserves to live in a home, especially those who served our country.
Yesterday, we celebrated veterans and those who helped them find homes in our community.
Portland City Commissioners Dan Saltzman and Nick Fish; Multnomah County Commissioners Deborah Kafoury and Diane McKeel; and Home Forward Commissioner David Kelleher joined with Portland Veteran Affairs and a host of partners who work to end homelessness in an event to celebrate the accomplishment of Operation 305. The group, made up or nonprofit and government partners under the leadership of Portland Housing Bureau's Sally Erickson, helped connect veterans to Veterans Assisted Services Housing (VASH) vouchers.
The event also drew attention to a community-wide drive for household goods for these veterans who are transitioning from living on the street to a home. Please click to see how you can help make a house a home for veterans this July.
