The Youth Services Division (YSD) works with community partners to keep our youth safe. We strive to keep our youth in school and out of the criminal justice system through a process of mediation, dialogue and accountability where all stakeholders have a voice. We continually look for opportunities to form partnerships, and build relationships with youth, their families and the school communities we serve. Above all, the staff of YSD aspire to serve as a resource and role models for our City’s families and schools.
YSD consists of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), Runaway Juvenile Unit, G.R.E.A.T. Program (classroom based curriculum engagement), School Resource Officer Unit (SRO), Cadet and Reserve Officer Program, and a Multnomah County Dept. of Community Justice, Juvenile Intervention & Resource Connection Specialist.
The Youth Services Division participates in and supports all Police Bureau events that involve young people and their families. The following events are just a few that are organized and staffed by YSD exclusively:
