The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) recognizes the need for transparency in review and development of its directives. Prior to the enactment of an updated or new directive, the Bureau will publish a portfolio containing a detailed summary of the Bureau’s directive review and development process for the directive(s), a copy of the proposed draft(s) for enactment, and all of the public comments collected during both universal review and public comment periods. The portfolio will be posted for fifteen calendar days and will be available to members of the public in a read-only format. It is the expectation of the Bureau that the proposed draft will be enacted shorter after the Final Public Review Period closes; however, in some instances, unanticipated circumstances or delays may prevent timely enactment.
