Welcome Message

Chief Sizer
Rosanne M. Sizer, Chief of Police

A Message from Chief Sizer,

On behalf of the Portland Police Bureau, I welcome you to our website.  I encourage you to take some time to explore our site and read about our current programs and priorities.

I want to encourage Bureau members and the community to build healthy relationships, to be more transparent and to be at ease in discussing a broad range of issues facing our agency.  By listening to others and hearing feedback on how the Bureau is providing critical police services, I am hopeful we can all be more invested in making our community safer.  The relationships that develop and the problem solving activities that occur help to reduce crime and improve the livability of our neighborhoods.

It is my hope that this site will inform you about Police Bureau events, update you on crime trends, and get you involved and connected to our community policing activities.

The Portland Police Bureau is also seeking to increase diversity throughout our agency.  We are looking for talented officers who are committed to a community policing philosophy and want to serve in our Portland community.  We offer the opportunity to develop your skills in a variety of assignments and use your problem solving skills to make a difference.  We offer excellent benefits and full medical and retirement programs.

Please visit our Employment page for upcoming testing dates and additional information about the application and hiring process.
