On Thursday, September 8, 1983, at approximately 9:30 a.m., at the Sea Sands Seafood Market, located at the 800 Block of SE Belmont, two suspects wearing masks and harmed with handguns entered the store and demanded money from the owners, Joseph George Jaha and his brother. A struggle ensued, during which Joseph was shot and killed and his brother injured.
The suspects were described as white males; the taller one had dark hair and the shorter one had sandy-colored hair.
