BENNIE HEDGMON

On May 15, 1995, at approximately 4:25 pm, several witnesses observed Bennie Lee Hedgmon, a 47-year-old African-American man, being physically assaulted in plain view by an unidentified African-American male at the intersection of N Jessup and Albina Avenue. EMS responded and Mr. Hedgmon was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. An autopsy revealed that he died of severe trauma.
Mr. Hedgmon was described as a user of drugs and alcohol who was living on pension and social security benefits. He was last seen leaving his apartment shortly before the assault.
The unidentified African-American male has been described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a shaved head.
